Kiss Thailand: Couples try to break the record for longest kiss

BANGKOK: Fourteen couples in the Thai tourist destination of Pattaya on Sunday began an attempt to break the world record for the longest continuous kiss.

The competition, organised by Louis Tussauad's Waxworks in Pattaya, was aimed at encouraging family relationships, and also, part of efforts to celebrate Valentine's Day, organisers said.

The couples were mainly Thai, but there was one German man and also a gay couple competing in the kissing marathon.

The competition started at 06:00 a.m. local time on Sunday (23:00 GMT, Saturday) and is expected to finish around 2 p.m. (07:00 GMT) on Monday.

However, one couple quit after 35 minutes in the competition because a lady fainted.

The record for the longest kiss, which lasted for 32 hours, seven minutes and 14 seconds, was set by Nikola Matovic and Kristina Reinhart in Germany in February 2009, according to the Guinness Book of Records. AGENCIEShttp://hotmedia2010.blogspot.com/
